We may think of joy as something that hap�pens spontaneously. Few people realize that it needs to be cultivated and practiced in order to grow. Mindfulness is the continuous prac�tice of deeply touching every moment of daily life. To be mindful is to be truly present with your body and your mind, to bring harmony to your intentions and actions, and to be in har�mony with those around you. We don’t need to make a separate time for this outside of our daily activities. We can practice mindfulness in every moment of the day as we walk from one place to another. When we walk through a door, we know that we’re going through a door. Our minds are with our actions.

I can't tell you how elated I am to have been recommended this very profound yet quick read that kept me riveted from beginning to end... I finished it in about 2 days reading from my kindle app on my phone as well as the PC Amazon Cloud Reader version while multitasking at work... VERY inexpensive and well worth ingesting..... The title may be simple but this is not some elementary manual on "love" in the commercially personified or rudimentary way.... Rather it is a very deep and conscious guide towards loving with more than words or emotions or in idealized concept..... I really feel this book is VITAL for every human being to read... The principles in this book speak to a deeper consciousness to foster healthier relationships with every love in your life-- spouses/mates/friends/ siblings/ family/ children etc . It's only 118 pages and visually spaced for a quick and easy flow. It's the kind of book you read and some months or years later re-read again like it's the first time all over .... Consider it a life manual to keep referring back to... I implore you to take the time to ingest this important spiritual work....... and may it enrich you as greatly as it has enriched me....

Hi, Small book that is very peaceful to read. I agree...if you reject yourself and cause harm to self there is no point in talking about loving/accepting others. Love self otherwise you have nothing to share. (I agree....God can love us, but we need to love ourselves first to know how to love others.) In order to help another person you need to understand their needs/suffering/desires first. Be a friend to yourself first. The 20 questions near the end of the book are good. Past/future generations are in us. Blame/argue doesn't help...only makes it worse.

Wonderful story!

Cousins Gracie and Bo are amazed by the world around them. Gracie tells Bo about the 7 Days of Creation. Together the children discover how great and beautiful the world is.

This is an extremely cute book! The illustrations are just beautiful and a perfect fit for the story. I love the two little cats in the background of pretty much all the pictures. They are funny. Gracie and Bo are great characters. I like the happy feeling the story has. I like how Gracie explains the 7 Days of Creation to her younger cousin by just playing outside. It is very simple and fun but not “preachy”. Mrs. Spinelli has done it yet again! :D

Fun and full of wisdom

Eileen Spinelli has captured a special conversation between an older child and her cousin Bo. Because the story is told from a child's point of view, other children listening will be able to associate with the characters. And watch the cats! I loved the little story the kittens told. The ending is perfect, God rested, and so did the kids.

I sat down with my two grand babies and read them this book. Madison is three and Micah fourteen months. they loved the story. We ended up reading it twice. Later Micah kept pointing at the book so I guessed he wanted to hear it again. This book kept them entertained with the story and all the colorful illustrations. This book will hold there attention. I would recommend this book for every small child I know it say's 4 to 8 but my grandkids set still through it at their young age.

The book is a great book that illustrates the seven days God created the earth. Two children playing in their yard observing and making connections with things in their yard to things in the story. Like different shapes in the clouds reminded them of the second day. Come and follow Gracie and Bo through the story. What a wonderful way to teach young children about creation.

And God created the Heaven and the Earth!

Not bad, but not as good as expected

I am an intermediate to advanced Excel user, so my review may reflect that level. As others have said, it looks like MS rushed this book to the market, evidenced by so many errata, which can be disappointing especially when the solution is wrong. On the other hand, there are some very interesting and genuine uses of various Excel functions to solve business problems.

I wouldn't recommend this book for beginners. If you're trying to learn Excel, this is not the book. It is not a book to teach excel, but a book to teach you what you can do with Excel to solve everyday problems, given you're familiar with the mechanics of excel.

I would recommend it with these caveats. And getting Walkenbach's book on Excel functions along with this would be very helpful in my opinion. Best of luck in your endeavors.

Raw Power

There is much biblical revelation in this book which gives the reader confidence to move in a difficult realm called the unseen. The account of graveyard spirits is comprehensive enough to be able to discern and deal with them practically, specially in situations of delay. Very few books I have read give the reader this depth of knowledge of the process of deliverance. The power of the resurrected and living Christ can be laid hold of in the now and released through declarations and confessions of the extensive prayer points included here. I highly recommend it for those in deliverance ministry.

A seasoned journalist who rose through the ranks presents an infantry company commander’s insight into his soldiers’ daily struggles to survive. His vivid prose explains why his brave "grunts" are still haunted by the experience and lack of public respect.

From the Author
This book describes what it was like to be an infantryman fighting on Vietnam's coastal plain and in the jungles in the area known as II Corps and I Corps. The years described include 1967-1968 and 1970-1971. Those are the years I served in that war, and the men whose actions I describe are either South Vietnamese soldiers whom I advised during my first tour, or American soldiers whom I led during my second tour.

These are my memories of the beauty and the ugliness of South Vietnam, of the monsoons, the odors, the rattle of machine guns, the tracers lashing the darkness, the misery and the humor, and the tough life of an infantryman in Charlie Company.

As one of the men who followed Lee Basnar in Charlie Company as an infantryman, I can attest to the accuracy of Lee's book. The book is right on the mark in its telling of Charlie Company's battles, time in the field near Landing Zone Stinson, and its trials under fire in a war that was one of the nations most unpopular. You will feel Basnar's emotion as you read the book and you will find it hard to put down. You will rage at the decisions of higher ranking commanders who tried to mico manage Basnar's battle field from a helicopter at 2,000 ft. until they realized that Basnar didn't need them.
Basnar brings back, in vivid detail, the company's encounters with the enemy and his reaction to those encounters as Charlie Company's commander.
From the jungles of the high ground and Tra Bong river, Basnar takes his readers through the dangerous missions he led and personally fought in. You will visit infamous places like the rocket pocket, the jungled mountain ridges west of Chu Lia, near the Laos border, and the lowland area known by the troops as Dodge City, a place where Lee earned his nick name, "The Marshal of Dodge City. " It was a terrible area for American troops, near Mia Lia 1,2 and 3, where the hedge rows were full of booby traps and the snipers were everywhere. But Basnar earned his reputation by dealing efficiently in that environment. Our Kit Carson scout, Kim, an X-Viet Cong who came over to our side, once told me in broken English, as we set up our camp , "They know who Basnar is. They are afraid of him. He is smart." "They" were the Viet Cong. Kim had many relatives on the other side. He often communicated with females in his family who kept him posted on his other relatives, a very dangerous group of men, who like Kim, had been fighting for over a dozen years. You don't earn the respect of men like that unless you are good at what you do, very good.
When you read Basnar's prose, you will realize it is the prose of a professional infantryman, a man that deserves the Combat Infantrymen's Badge as much as any man. He knew his job and you will understand just how well he knew it after reading the book. He was a smart, straight shooting commanding officer who expected as much of himself as he did from us.
I was reminded by reading the book how he turned our demoralized company around, and, after the change, how proud I was to serve under him as a young point man and later as a squad leader. If you read the book, you will see why the black scarfed men of Charlie Co. 1/52nd Infantry Battalion would have followed Basnar anywhere. They new he cared about them as well as the mission, and that made all the difference because it made him one of us. Even today, as our hair greys and our memories of many things fade. The memory of Basnar is still strong in our minds.

Women can understand this soldier

In Vietnam Vignettes, Lee Basnar paints War with broad strokes, a War that could have occurred over a hundred years ago in our own South, or today in the MidEast. The horrors, fear and anxiety remain the same. Loneliness, wet feet, wounded friends, heavy packs, cookies from home. Scenes we all have experienced second-hand in movies and books.
Yet across those broad strokes, Basnar paints finely detailed vignettes we have not seen, portraits of many moods. Facing the hatred in the eyes of a widow holding the bullet-riddled body of her husband as she contemplates grim life without him, and murmuring a heartfelt, "I'm sorry". Reading the message from a bounding deer that stopped and peered over her shoulder, a danger alert which allowed him to kill the skilled enemy who had been booby-trapping his men. Tapping his boot to dislodge any intruders, yet finding a new ant colony when he plunged his foot in, resulting in a one-legged dance his men found hilarious.
From those portraits we conjure up the soul of a man who is not only a citizen of the world, accepting the best and the worst humans have to offer, but the spirit of a man who is part of the universe around him. Basnar allows us into the mind of a man that every woman wants to protect her, and maybe love her. But she will settle for having him lead her sons through safely and send them home.

Excellent!

I loved this book. It's short, fast-paced, and it really grabbed me. It is neither pro- nor anti-war, does not idealize war, and does not demonize the Viet Cong. It just tells it like it was. It shows you the action or the pathos or the humor, letting it hit you the way it hit the author at the time. I recommend it to everyone who wants to know what it was like to participate in the Vietnam War. As a female college student without any friends or relatives fighting in the war, I didn't read a lot about the war when it was happening. Of course, I saw the unsettling pictures of the fighting in magazines and on the TV news, and I attended many war "teach-ins" and discussions on campus. But it wasn't until reading this book that I really understood what the soldiers experienced over there. Everyone should read it. I'll be sending copies of it as Christmas gifts this year.
